Rockingham County Tennis Coach Development Workshop February 17 at WR YMCA indoor tennis courts in Mayodan, NC

Please join us for our first USTA NC AREA 8 TENNIS Coaches Development Workshop on Monday February 17 at the Western Rockingham YMCA indoor courts in Mayodan, NC. This free lunch and workshop from 12:30-3pm is hosted by Pat Williams of Pat's Tennis Aces and Robert Hogewood, Community Engagement and Training Coordinator for USTA NC and supported by a capacity building grant from USTA Foundation. The interactive on-court workshop will improve your coaching knowledge, share tips for planning your team program and practices and ideas to help develop your team players. Super Tennis Saturdays in February

RCTA is excited to continue to offer Super Tennis Saturdays on February 8, 15, 22, and 29 on the indoor tennis courts at the WR YMCA. Kids age 6-12 and Adults beginners can join Try Play for instruction and supervised play. Cardio Tennis - Heart Pumping Fitness at WR YMCA

Get ready to swing a racket and BURN calories. Cardio Tennis has slowly become known as the "third way to play tennis," rather than the traditional singles and doubles matches. Classes are geared towards keeping players in their target heart-rate zone so they can burn the most calories and get the best workout possible in the hour long sessions. Rockingham County Schools is USTA Southern Member Organization of the Year

Congratulations to Rockingham County Schools. They have been recognized as the USTA Southern Member Organization of the Year. They were selected among 9 state winners in the USTA Southern Section and the first school system to be recognized in the 34-year history of this award. Dr.. Shotwell will accept this award on January 18 at the USTA Southern annual meeting in Atlanta Georgia. Read More
