MEET, GREET AND PLAY with our newest Adult Tennis players

We have over 40 new tennis adult players in Rockingham County.  Try Tennis and Tennis Apprentice programs are connecting our players on the courts.  If YOU would like to join in for fun, casual doubles play, please email RCTennisAssociation@gmail.com to receive news of where to meet, greet and play.  

WINTER 2017-18

During Winter 2017-18, players gather twice a week at Western Rockingham YMCA indoor courts.  Y members and Silver Sneakers pay $4 court fee.  Non-members may play for an additional $10 guest fee.  Dennis Webster organizes the weekly play by text message.  Text Dennis at (336) 314-2362 to join the group.

When weather permits, our group plays outdoors at Deep Springs Country Club in Stoneville,  and Jaycee Park in Reidsville.

ROCKINGHAM COMMUNITY COLLEGE ADULT TENNIS CLASSES - Spring 2018

Rockingham Community College offers Beginning Lessons for ages 16-Adult  and USTA Southern Tennis Apprentcie for age 16 - Adult as part of their courses for credit and Continuing Education programs each spring and fall.  Student under age 18 are required to submit a consent form to participate.

Rockingham Community College's newly-resurfaced tennis courts have been selected by  as the USTA NC 2016 Facility of the Year and a USTA 2017 National Facility of the Year in the Educational Institution category.


RCC Tennis - Beginning This is a RCC PE course open to continuing education students age 16-adult. This course empahsizes the fundamentals of tennis and meets on Mondays and Wednesday from 3/7-5/3, 9-10:50am. Topics include basic strokes, rules, etiquette, and court play. Upon completion students should be able to play recreational students.

USTA Tennis Apprentice returns to RCC this spring on Saturdays mornings April 14 - May 19.

Tennis Apprentice I . Tennis Apprentice I is a beginning class for age 16 - adults and registration fee includes a USTA membership and a new racket. 9-10:30am

 LOCAL LEAGUES AT EDEN FAMILY YMCA

The Eden Family YMCA offers league opportunities for all Y members to play by age group (18, 35, and 55&Over) and Co-ed Doubles on four clay courts in Eden and 2 indoor court at the Western Rockingham YMCA in Mayodan.  Members and Non-Members are welcome

ADULT SANCTIONED USTA TOURNAMENTS

A sanctioned tournament is one that is approved by the USTA.  The club, organization, or person running the tournament has paid a sanction fee to the USTA and agrees to run the tournament following USTA Southern Section Tournament rules and regulations. 

USTA North Carolina offers different levels of tournaments to meet Adult player's competitive needs. A player may enter any tournament, although you should strive to find the level of tournament at which you can best meet your personal tennis goals.You are also welcome to contact Matt Delascio, NC Tennis Adult Leagues Events Coordinator for advice. matt@nctennis.com
